i don't believe this story at all, sounds like maybe the kid is trying to get revenge for the mother giving him up to adoption. Obviously he has mental problems, and bipolar would make that worse.

It is in fact fairly common. We tend to be attracted to people that we have things in common with. Sharing 50% of your genes with someone obviously increases the chances of that. Add in sharing personal stuff, that you'd never usually tell a stranger. What usually keeps us from being attracted to close family members, is growing up with them. When that environmental modifier doesn't exist, stuff like this happens

If you look at the original story, and the update, it is apparent that both parties... Mother and the child, are screwed up. So, who knows which one is telling the truth.
